Reshaping the future of fan experiences: Futureverse acquired Candy Digital

This April, we announced the acquisition of Candy Digital, a next-generation fan experience platform at the intersection of sports, entertainment, and culture.

Known for its partnerships with blue-chip brands like Major League Baseball (MLB), Netflix, Getty Images, Warner Bros. Discovery, and DC Comics, Candy is home to one of the largest licensed catalogs of collectibles and games. They boast over 4 million digital collectibles and a massive customer base of more than 1.5 million accounts.

By integrating additional premium IP into the ecosystem, we’re able to combine our patented AI and metaverse technologies with world-class brands to unlock richer storytelling opportunities and drive deeper fan engagement across every touchpoint.

With this move, more content will also migrate to The Root Network – delivering true digital ownership, interoperability by design, and built-in IP protection for a new generation of experiences. Leveraging the latest frameworks, The Root Network empowers brands to build future-ready, fan-first ecosystems from day one.

“Brands like MLB and DC Comics already sit at the intersection of digital and real-world fandom. By bringing them into Futureverse’s ecosystem, we can leverage our technology to enhance brand loyalty and create immersive experiences across The Root Network.”
– Aaron McDonald, Co-Founder and CEO, Futureverse

This acquisition is another step towards establishing a new era of fan-first experiences – where engagement goes beyond content into frictionless, real-time, interactive experiences. Our advanced technology enables businesses and developers to build the worlds and experiences they imagine while leveraging ownable AI and protocols that drive the new internet. We empower brands to:

- Integrate frictionless sign-up with a vast array of social and gaming logins.

- Activate and manage digital IP across any game, platform, or engine.

- Build, manage, and monetize vibrant online communities through innovative social features.

- Create engaging content for games or IP that users can take anywhere.

If you’re a brand or IP holder looking to capitalize on the next wave of immersive, fan-first, branded experiences, let’s talk today.

How Connectibles can help brands monetize IP and stay in control

As gaming expands across platforms and genres, the lines between categories are blurring, and the competition for attention is fiercer than ever. That’s where Connectibles comes in – a new technology platform ready to help brands cut through the noise by transforming their IP into powerful new revenue streams.

You can think of it as a digital rights manager for IP but supercharged for today’s connected virtual worlds. Connectibles makes it easy for IP holders to:

- Seamlessly connect IP to fans anywhere in the digital world.

- Unlock new creative and commercial opportunities.

- Maintain full control and protection over assets.

Imagine Warner Bros. releases a film, and it spins off into a popular game. With Connectibles, the studio can issue digital assets – like collectible avatars or virtual props – directly to fans as part of a loyalty program or merch sales, then integrate those assets into a game like Fortnite, where they can benefit from a large existing user base and avoid the cost of building a bespoke experience.

Another major advantage is the ability for IP holders to manage content through a single, secure platform that allows them to:

- See exactly how and where the assets are used.

- Define which games or experiences IP can appear in.

- Instantly revoke licenses or assets if terms are broken.

Plus, the platform ensures IP stays aligned with brand standards, guaranteeing quality, authenticity, and protection at every touchpoint.

Powered by our groundbreaking UBF framework, Connectibles paves the way for branded assets to work seamlessly across game engines and ecosystems, while looking great at the same time. Whether it’s digital apparel, accessories, storefronts, furniture, or even full environments, brand IP can be deployed almost anywhere, opening up entirely new ways to engage audiences and generate revenue.

The platform gives brands a new way to show up – and stand out – in the digital world. By embedding IP directly into the player experience, Connectibles enables IP holders to tap into highly engaged gaming audiences, creating new opportunities for awareness, loyalty, and revenue across the evolving virtual landscape.

ALTERED STATE launched Open Alpha with a game-changing feature

The gates to ALTERED STATE, our advanced generative tool that brings your thoughts to life through the power of AI, are officially open. For the first time, anyone can jump in, generate game-ready avatars and objects, and help shape the future of this innovative creative platform.

Acting as a bridge between IP owners and game developers, UBF ensures interoperability without requiring creators to modify their assets for specific platforms. It’s a key part of our mission to create an open metaverse where builders have freedom and users have true ownership.

Feedback from users during ALTERED STATE’s Open Alpha plays a critical role in developing a world-class creative product – and our community is already hard at work reporting bugs, suggesting improvements, and sharing ideas as they explore the latest version.

Dive in and unlock cutting-edge features like text-to-3D, image-to-3D, and image-to-texture creation. Simply start with words or an image, then style your creations into detailed 3D objects with limitless possibilities. It’s time to create anything imaginable.

It was another massive month for groundbreaking social gaming platform, The Readyverse, as Early Access testing was opened up to a new cohort of players. Timed to align with a new feature update, the ever-expanding immersive virtual universe is now available for all holders of Fluf and Party Bear collectibles.

During the Early Access period, players navigated through all aspects of the platform including games, Showrooms, and Surreal Estate, and unlocked new levels of immersion and interaction with collectibles they own.

The Third Kingdom Episode 2: A new dawn for open gaming

April marked the launch of Episode 2 of The Third Kingdom, our premier strategy simulation game. This major update introduced a dynamic new layer where players harvest a super rare resource known as Mycelium through strategic missions or passive gameplay, and redeem it directly for ROOT.

The engagement has been phenomenal, with players already unlocking over 90 million ROOT, showcasing the vibrant economy taking shape within the game.

More than just new gameplay, Episode 2 serves as a striking example of how Futureverse technology is bringing the open metaverse to life. At its core is true interoperability: players aren’t confined to a single source of game assets – they can recruit iconic character collectibles from across diverse communities, including Flufs, Cool Cats, Doodles, Deadfellaz, Pudgy Penguins, and more.

This seamless integration of multiple digital assets into a unified experience is powered by Futureverse tech, including the Asset Register, and is accessed via our seamless and secure one-click customer onboarding solution, Pass.

Resources that are gathered in the game can eventually flow into the Material World, breaking down walled gardens – a cornerstone of our vision for an interconnected digital future – and demonstrating a commitment to cross-platform utility.
