In May, two major players integrated Pass to solve a common challenge: converting users without onboarding friction.
Pass is a one-click customer onboarding solution for developers and businesses. With seamless, secure sign-up, it helps reach more users and increases conversions from day one.
First up, RakutenWallet.Pass now gives Rakuten Wallet users a seamless way to access digital ownership and immersive experiences with no barriers in the way. Powered by Pass technology, it’s a secure, intuitive wallet integration that brings next-generation commerce into play.
Aaron McDonald, Co-Founder and CEO of Futureverse, said, "We’ve made the technology itself invisible and have eliminated the roadblocks that consumers and brands usually experience when trying to deliver the value that web3 can provide.”
Next was GameTree.Pass, launched in collaboration with gamer social platform GameTree. With 1.5 million+ users, GameTree now uses Pass tech to power onboarding and digital ownership behind the scenes. Players can take their identity, assets, and preferences with them – no matter the game or platform.
With Pass, Rakuten Wallet and GameTree found a way to onboard new and existing users without friction and build for the future. As more platforms adopt it, we move closer to a world where digital assets move freely and value follows the user.
In a digital world that never sits still, developers and creators are constantly looking for better ways to build and connect across platforms. True interoperability is hard to achieve – especially in gaming – where pipelines are complex and fragmented. That’s why we’ve designed the Universal Blueprint Framework (UBF): to simplify the process and help scale interoperable experiences.
UBF unlocks real-time interoperability for 3D assets. Instead of locking assets into a specific engine or game, it renders them instantly across a wide range of supported environments – so they’re ready to use anywhere, anytime.
Think of it as a universal adapter for game assets – one that lets them plug into any system, regardless of where they were created. Because assets aren’t tied to a single platform, developers can trust they’ll work across virtual worlds, brands can scale their IP into new experiences, and creators can build once and deploy anywhere.
”As an asset creator, you don't have to worry about what’s possible or what’s not possible for specific game engines. You just need to make sure it's UBF-compatible.”
– Sean Choi, Head of Asset Platform, Futureverse
UBF also simplifies asset management. It gives IP holders full control to update and maintain their assets independently, while developers benefit from fewer disruptions and users always see the latest version without constant patches as the assets are loaded and rendered at runtime.
Because assets are interoperable by design, UBF can unlock new creative and commercial possibilities. When assets are built to move across platforms and evolve over time, they can generate value in more places like in-game purchases, branded collaborations, virtual storefronts, and more. Now, every asset becomes a long-term opportunity, rather than a one-off drop.
The first real-world use of UBF can be found in The Readyverse – a social discovery engine for connected experiences built by anyone. It’s where players create and explore interoperable content, and brands step into the next phase of gaming and the internet. In The Readyverse, assets like avatars and wearables aren’t locked into one world but move with their owner, proving that true interoperability and digital ownership aren’t just theoretical, they’re already in play.
UBF is already in early access with select game studios and content creators, and real-world use cases are growing fast. Whether you’re a game developer building in the open metaverse, or an IP holder looking to activate assets across ecosystems, UBF gives you the flexibility to scale across the next wave of digital experiences. If you’re interested in getting involved early, let’s talk.
We’ve seen a fresh surge of innovation across the tech landscape in the last few weeks, particularly in AI and creative tooling. The latest updates from major players offer a glimpse of where the wider industry could be headed next.
At Google I/O, the big news centered around extensive AI-driven updates across platforms, with Gemini models enhancing Search via AI Mode, integrating into Workspace tools, and powering new Android features. On the creative side, Veo 3 showed off a serious leap toward high-quality, real-time video generation complete with synced audio. For creators working in film, games, or anything in between, these tools promise to turn ideas into reality faster than ever before.
Google wasn’t the only company making moves in the AI space. OpenAI made headlines with two major announcements: a partnership with the UAE to provide ChatGPT premium access to the entire population, and a $6.5B collaboration between Sam Altman and Jony Ive, who’s quietly building what may be a post-screen device. The implications are big. Design, interface, and interaction are getting a fundamental rethink in the Age of AI.
Why does this matter to us and our partners? Because the shift toward more intelligent and creative tech is changing how we use the internet, making everything from content to interfaces feel more personal and responsive. In the open metaverse, that means new possibilities for games, entertainment, identity, and more. We’re building the infrastructure and tools to help our partners tap into that future – so anyone can create connected experiences that feel as intuitive and intelligent as the technology behind them.
May was an action-packed month for DC in the Futureverse ecosystem, proving that the future of fandom lies at the crossroads of blockchain, gaming, and community-driven storytelling.

Following April’s merger, Candy Digital cemented itself inside the Futureverse ecosystem. To celebrate, Candy launched the Legacy Unleashed Showcase Challenge, a six-week campaign giving Bat Cowl and Legacy Cowl holders the chance to win physical deluxe editions of Batman: The Legacy Cowl. Fans participated by showing off their DC collections and tagging new users to spread the word.
Additionally, Candy collaborated with RCADIA to launch a cross-promotional campaign, Access Granted: Win Your Way into RCADIA — a six-day, 12-winner giveaway that introduced the DC community to RCADIA’s gaming ecosystem.
The latest DC updates aren’t just about exclusivity — they’re about co-creating stories with a growing community of passionate fans. With drops like DC3 comics along with campaigns like Legacy Unleashed and Access Granted, passive fans are being transformed into active participants.
